Taiwan’s defence expenditure is expected to grow from the current $9.9bn to $10.9bn by 2021, witnessing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.38%, according to a report by Strategic Defence Intelligence (SDI).
US and Russia brokered a deal for cessation of hostilities in Syria. The Japanese Air Self-Defense Force has reportedly scrambled its fighter jets on 25 September, after eight Chinese military aircraft flew near islands in the East China Sea. The Chinese fighters and bombers flew between Okinawa’s main island and Miyako-jima island near Taiwan in a show of force.
